ECSG Primary School (continued)when attending clubs and events outside the school day. We have many talented pupils that complete challenges such as with reading, jujitsu, swimming, dance and other sporting achievements. ROLE OF THE CHAPLAIN AND OTHER CLERGYThe role between the school and the clergy from the local parish remains strong. Reverend Katy Cunliffe and Father Paul support weekly worship in school linking to the whole school themes. Katy Cunliffe is a member of the governing body and offers a great support to the wider school within this role. Father Paul offers pastoral support to the school, and this is enhanced with special services such as for the year 6 leavers service. These personal services add to the pupil%u2019s sense of belonging to the community and prepare them for their next steps in their journey. Our recent SIMs inspection stated, %u2018Inspirational worship is central to each day. The energy with which pupils engage in worship is infectious. The joy is palpable. Thoughtfully and carefully planned, led by clergy, staff, and pupils it reflects the church calendar and non-religious awareness days. Worship at St George%u2019s brings the Christian vision and values to life.%u2019Pupils within the school continue to enjoy the inspiring worship of Mr Ford who is Blue Coat Schools Chaplain. This gives further opportunity for collective worship links across our family of schools within the Trust. Mr Ford has organised a termly collective worship hub across the Trust which allows schools to come together to share good practice and offer support to one another. Mr Ford also offers support planning the collective worship themes allowing St George%u2019s to embed coverage of key themes we believe we need to cover within the coming year, whilst following the Trust overview. Our recent SIAMS inspection stated, %u2018deeply connected partnerships with the trust and the diocese, enhance professional development opportunities. As a result, staff have extremely high levels of confidence and skill.%u2019Amanda Robinson, Head of SchoolOUR school continues to thrive for the benefit of our children. Extensive building works to support our children with additional needs has taken place. We now have a sensory room, parents meeting room and a mental health and wellbeing room. The wellbeing room has bifold doors opening onto an outside quiet space in the centre of school, this will be an oasis in the summer months. Our practical / cookery area has been modified so children in wheelchairs can cook and do craft activities whilst seated in their chairs. The provision was opened The Venerable Karen Smeeton on 14th November 2024.Every school should have a separate library stocked with books to suit all ages and abilities. During the above works we had the library re-furbished, new library furniture and excitingly all new books! The library is open during breakfast club for the children and also during the school day. This has brought about a real thirst for reading. Even during frosty mornings children huddle together reading their books on the playground. We had a SIAMS inspection in the Autumn term and we are pleased that the inspector%u2019s findings indicate that %u2018East Crompton St James Church of England VA Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school%u2019. Here are a few quotes from the report:%u201cPupils with special needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported. There is an effective focus on working with families and removing barriers to enable success.%u201d%u201cThe relationship with the local church is mutually beneficial. It supports the sharing of collective worship that is inclusive and invitational. This helps pupils to live out the values in their lives within and outside school.%u201dOur curriculum continues to be enriched for our children with our specialist forest school, music and art teachers. The Federation has just taken delivery of an additional minibus so whole classes can take visits out during the termtime and in the holidays with HAF club, which provides holiday activities for our children. Our Federation continues to be strong with its truly inclusive offer supported by its staff, governors and parents. As our strapline implies, we are %u2018seeking the best for everyone%u2019.Best wishes.Adam Laskey B.Ed (Hons), NPQHExecutive HeadteacherEast Crompton St James%u2019 Primary SchoolBrigadeAS always we must place on record our thanks to St Saviour%u2019s for allowing our continued use of their building on Wednesday evening for our Brigade nights. We have seen a slight increase in numbers over the past few months with around 14-16 attending regularly encompassing all ages which will mean us having to look at the possibility of forming a %u2018senior%u2019 section. The group have undertaken a series of craft sessions making, to name just a few, Mothers%u2019 Day and Easter Cards, Pizza Making, decorating cookies, Christmas Tree Decorations to name a few.Brigade continues to be involved in the All Age Worship Services and we have provided readers %u2013 surprisingly all willing volunteers %u2013 who have all done really well. It%u2019s also been good to see relatives and friends of those taking part supporting the young people at these services. Thank you and thanks to Paul for involving the group in these servicesWe haven%u2019t, as yet, had our usual trip out but that will hopefully soon be organised. The annual end of season %u2018Water Fight%u2019 continues to be as popular as ever and it is a chance for the young people to get their own back on the leaders %u2013 that is those leaders who are brave enough to step out of the building that is!As ever my thanks go to everyone who has supported the organisation over the last 12 months especially the leaders who give up their time voluntarily. Trevor DunkerleyParish%u2008MagazineTHE magazine has continued to be published as an online publication albeit with not the same frequency as in previous years. When published it is viewable on our website and also via the link on our Facebook page and the Mission Community weekly mailing. The plans to have one magazine for the Mission Community are on hold and the existing version is probably going to be produced quarterly depending on interest from the parish %u2013 so please get in touch with your views!
